The Sooners’ speedster played last year as a freshman for the Longhorns, but felt a calling to come to OU, where he made an eye-opening debut on Saturday against Iowa State.

NORMAN — Brent Venables said he just had a feeling. So did Brenen Thompson.

Boy, did Brenen Thompson have a feeling.

“I got out here and saw my mom in pregame, in the Walk of Champions, teared up a little bit,” Thompson said on Saturday night after Oklahoma beat Iowa State 50-20. “Just for the simple fact of, you know, I’m here. This is my time. This is my moment. I’m here to seize it. I’m here to work.”
