USA VS France Gold Medal Preview

After two underdog wins and a thrilling fourth quarter come-back, The United States and France are set to play August 10th for gold in the 2024 Paris Olympics Mens Basketball.

Who to Watch For

This matchup for the United States won’t be any easier. France star player, Victor Wembanyama, has been a force on the court during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Wembanyama currently is averaging a double-double in the Olympics with 13.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Wembanyamas instincts to block shots and ability too clog the paint will be a challenge the American squad has not seen yet. Active NBA players, Rudy Gobert, Evan Fournier, Nicolas Batum and Frank Nitilikina are important pieces to Frances success.

With all the star power that the United States holds, Kevin Durants spacing and shot creating could help out USA over the hump for gold. Stephen Currys ability to read off-ball screens and speed can give these France guards trouble out on the perimeter.

Expect this game to be very competitive, it’s for all the marbles. Both France and USA will be competing at the highest level to represent their country. France will need the guards to execute consistently on both sides of the ball to succeed. The United States need to focus on the opposing hot hand and earlier adjustments to the opposing teams success in order to secure a gold medal.
