Texas Splits A Four-Game Series With Oakland

The Texas Rangers, 53-53 overall, split a four-game series with the Oakland Athletics, 60-47, at the Oakland Coliseum. Texas won 11-3. Left fielder Danny Santana hit a two-run double, his 16th, and a grand slam, his 14th home run. Starter Ariel Jurado earned his sixth win after allowing three runs and striking out six in seven innings.
Texas won game two 5-2. Left fielder Willie Calhoun hit a RBI double, his sixth, and a solo home run, his sixth. Third baseman Asdrúbal Cabrera hit two one-run singles. Starter Lance Lynn earned his 13th win after allowing two runs, one earned, and striking out eight in six innings.
Texas lost game three 5-4. Santana hit a two-run triple, his fifth. Starter Adrian Sampson earned his eighth loss after allowing after allowing five runs and striking out two in six innings.
Texas lost the series finale 6-5. Right fielder Nomar Mazara hit a solo home run, his 15th, and hit a RBI single. Santana hit a solo home run, his 15th. Reliever Jose Leclerc earned his third loss after allowing two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Texas will start a five-game homestand with a two-game series against the Seattle Mariners, 46-63, which cane be heard on:
