Texas Loses Three-Game Series In Seattle, To Finish Road Trip In Oakland

The Texas Rangers, 51-51 overall, lost a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners, 42-63, at T-Mobile Park. Texas lost the series opener 7-3. Designated hitter Hunter Pence and left fielder Shin-Soo Choo each hit a RBI single and second baseman Rougned Odor hit a solo home run, his 15th. Starter Adrian Sampson earned his seventh loss after allowing six runs and striking out four.
Texas won game two 7-2. Right fielder Nomar Mazara and Choo each hit a solo home run, Mazara’s 14th and Choo’s 17th, and Odor hit a two-run home run and a solo home run, his 16th and 17th. Rookie Pedro Payano earned his first MLB win after allowing a run and striking out seven in five innings.
Texas lost the series finale 5-3. Odor hit a three-run home run, his 18th. Starter Mike Minor earned his sixth loss after allowing five runs, four earned, and striking out five in six innings.
Texas will finish its 10-game road trip with a four-game series against the Oakland Athletics, 58-45, which can be heard on:
