Texas Loses Three-Game Series Against Cleveland

The Texas Rangers, 58-55 overall, lost a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians, 69-46, at Progressive Field. Texas won the series opener 1-0. Right fielder Nomar Mazara drove in the game’s lone run with a sacrifice fly. Starter Mike Minor earned his 10th win after striking out seven in seven innings and closer Jose Leclerc earned his seventh save after pitching a shutout ninth inning.
Texas lost game two 2-0. Third baseman Logan Forsythe had a two-hit game. Starter Ariel Jurado earned his seventh loss after allowing two runs and striking out five in seven innings.
Texas lost the series finale 5-1. Left fielder Willie Calhoun hit a solo home run, his ninth. Starter Lance Lynn earned his seventh loss after allowing two runs, one earned, and striking out eight in seven innings.
Texas will continue its nine-game road trip with a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers, 60-56, at Miller Park, which can be heard on:
