Stutsman Named to Midseason All-America Teams

NORMAN — University of Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman, the Big 12 Conference leader in total tackles and tackles per game, was named to several midseason All-America teams this week as the Sooners prepare for the second half of the 2023 campaign.

Stutsman has been honored this week as a midseason All-American by the Associated Press, The Athletic, CBS Sports, ESPN, FOX Sports and USA Today.

A junior from Windermere, Fla., Stutsman is averaging a league-high 9.7 stops per game (next most is 9.0), which also ranks 15th nationally. He has led OU in tackles in five of six games and against SMU in week two was named Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week after logging 17 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a QB hurry and a fumble recovery. Stutsman also ranks second in the league and sixth nationally with his 1.8 TFLs per game and returned an interception for a touchdown at Tulsa.
