NORMAN – No. 1/1 Houston’s Jamal Shead hit a jumper with less than one second left in regulation, and RV/RV Oklahoma fell to the Cougars 87-85 on Saturday night at Lloyd Noble Center.
Despite being down 74-63 with 9:15 remaining, Oklahoma rallied and tied the score at 85-all with 11 seconds left.
The Sooners’ (19-10, 7-9 Big 12) comeback attempt started with a jumper by senior Sam Godwin and continued with a 3-pointer by senior Le’Tre Darthard. UH’s LJ Cryer answered, extending the Houston lead back to eight before junior Jalon Moore bound through the lane and buried a tough layup at the rim.
