The Sooners will open the season with plenty of expectations once again as the program looks to win its fourth-straight Women’s College World Series crown in 2024.
Preseason recognition continues to roll in for Patty Gasso’s Oklahoma Sooners.
After notching the program’s third consecutive national title last June, OU enters the year as the No. 1 team in the country in the ESPN.com/USA Softball preseason ranking.
The Sooners were already named to the top spot by both Softball America and D1 Softball.
Oklahoma leads the pack in what is projected to be a strong year for the Big 12, as Texas was ranked at No. 5, Oklahoma State was rated No. 11 and Baylor checked in at No. 19.
In the non-conference, OU will square off against No. 9 Duke, No. 10 Washington and No. 21 Louisiana.
