NORMAN – Oklahoma shot 48% from the field and used a strong second half to overpower TCU, 72-55, in Norman on Wednesday and remain in first place in the Big 12.
The win marked Oklahoma’s (16-6, 10-1 Big 12) seventh straight victory – the third-longest winning streak of the Jennie Baranczyk era – and the Sooners are 10-1 in league play for the first time since 2008-09.
“I know that it wasn’t the best we’ve played, but I’m proud of how we really gutted some things out,” Baranczyk said. “We didn’t really have the bounce that we normally do, but we created some really good opportunities in the second half. Sometimes you’ve got to win in different ways and we were able to do that today.”
