OU Basketball: New Faces Show Out in Oklahoma’s Dominant Season Opener
Porter Moser’s Sooners started the 2023-24 season off on the right foot with a commanding victory over Central Michigan on Monday night.

NORMAN — Oklahoma’s newfound length and athleticism was on full display in the season opener.

Porter Moser’s men didn’t stumble out of the gate this year, blitzing Central Michigan 89-59 to raise the curtain on the college basketball season at Lloyd Noble Center on Monday night.

OU’s rebuilt roster, featuring six transfers and two impact freshmen, forced 16 turnovers and turned those mistakes into 20 points on the other end to pressure the Chippewas.
