OSU Softball: Oklahoma State Dominates Florida State in Game Two of the Series

Oklahoma State’s Kyra Aycock slowed down Florida State as the OSU offense found its way on Saturday.

Kenny Gajewski wanted a response from last night’s loss. He sure got that as the Cowgirls got the run-rule victory.

“I just told them there is one one thing I want to know about, and that is the response,” Gajewski said. “Our girls were in character all day, they were normal.”

OSU moved to 19-2 on the year, and Florida State fell to 21-4

Aycock got the nod in the circle and was in control for the whole game on Saturday.

The freshman was amazing giving up one run and two hits in five innings pitched.

“I think I did really well,” Aycock said. “I was just going to come into this game throwing what I knew I could throw.”

OSU offense went to work at the start of the game.

Rachel Becker led off the bottom of first with a walk, extending her streak of reaching on base to 21 games.

True freshman Tallen Edwards kept things going with a single to left field, putting runners at first and second for Kiley Naomi.

The senior delivered, hitting a double down the left field wall, scoring Becker and giving OSU the early 1-0 lead.

Micaela Wark kept it rolling with a shot to center field, scoring another two runs and making it 3-0.

Audrey Schneidmiller came up and produced a run on a ground out to third, stretching the lead to 4-0.

Becker started things again in the second with a double to the center field wall.

After a sacrifice-fly from Edwards put Becker at third, Naomi stepped in for OSU.

Naomi reached on a fielder’s choice, scoring Becker and putting OSU up 5-0.

Wark kept her great day going as she hit a shot down the left field line, scoring Naomi and pushing the lead to 6-0.

The third inning started off well for OSU as Megan Bloodworth hit a single into left field.

Another Becker single put runners on first and second and another RBI opportunity for the Cowgirls.

The opportunity got even bigger after Naomi got hit by a pitch, setting up bases-loaded for OSU.

After Wark got out, Katelynn Carwile came up and reached base safely after a throwing error by the Seminoles, scoring two more runs and making it 8-0.

The lead shrunk in the fourth for the Cowgirls after a home run from Florida State’s Kalei Harding made it 8-1.

That is all the Seminoles got as Aycock struck out the Seminoles Katie Dack to end the inning.

After the bases got loaded in the seventh, Carwile drew a walk, bringing home Edwards and ending the game 9-1.

The Cowgirls look for the series win on Sunday at 2 p.m., and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
