Oklahoma State vs. Texas Preview

Oklahoma State vs. Texas Preview

The Cowboys should be well rested after coming off of a bye week. Good thing too, they will need all the power they can muster to overcome the Longhorns.

After the rollercoaster Texas fought through during the Red River Showdown, the team is determined to get a win as quickly as possible.

Casey Thompson Comes Into His Own

Since Casey Thompson has become the starting quarterback for Texas, Coach Sarkisian has not looked back. Thompson has shown improvement in each game he’s played but his game took a huge leap during the Red River Showdown.

Throwing for 388 yards and five scores, Thompson displayed how much of a threat he can truly be.

If he continues to produce at this level, it will be difficult for even the Cowboys defense to stop him and the Longhorns.

Bijan Robinson and Friends

Bijan Robinson has been leading the Texas offense rushing yards and continues to be a problem many teams cannot handle. Against Oklahoma last week Robinson rushed for 137 yards, averaged 6.7 yards per carry, and scored one touchdown.

Another offensive threat that was electric last week was wide receiver, Xavier Worthy. Finishing with 261 yards receiving and two touchdowns, Worthy proved exactly what he’s capable of.

Having multiple options to make plays makes the Longhorns a tougher opponent than before. Oklahoma State needs to ensure their defense is ready to control various aspects of the field.

If the Cowboys can keep the Longhorn offense from gaining traction and keep them off the field, Oklahoma State will be in a good position to win.
