NORMAN — Lucious Selmon, the oldest of the three famed Selmon brothers who starred at Oklahoma on the defensive line in the 1970s, was announced Wednesday as a member of the SEC’s 2025 Football Legends class, a group of former football standouts who will be honored at events surrounding the SEC Football Championship Game in Atlanta in December.
Selmon, who attended OU from 1970-73 and played during the 1971-73 seasons, was a unanimous first-team All-American as a senior in 1973. He was named the Big Eight Defensive Player of the Year and Chevrolet/ABC Defensive Player of the Year and finished seventh in Heisman Trophy voting that same season. He also earned second-team All-America honors in 1972 and was a first-team All-Big Eight honoree in his final two seasons.
