The NBA and NBPA has reached a deal on a tentative collective bargaining agreement so there will be no lock out in the NBA.
The new deal was struck late Friday night/early Saturday morning and clears the way for labor peace through the rest of the decade. The 7 year deal also includes a mutual opt out after the 6th year of the deal if things aren’t going well.
There were a lot of hot topics in these discussions and for the most part, the things that most thought would happen were agreed on. There are still details that need to be announced once the deal is formalized but the new agreement was met with mixed feelings from fans, players, and media.
