Drake Stoops Interview Oklahoma WR Drake Stoops Named Burlsworth Award Semifinalist
The trophy for college football’s best former walk-on was named after an Arkansas Razorback legend and was won twice by Baker Mayfield.

NORMAN — Oklahoma wide receiver Drake Stoops has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the Burlsworth Trophy, which is awarded to the most outstanding football player in America who began his career as a walk-on, the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation announced Tuesday.

Stoops has registered career highs of 52 receptions and 528 receiving yards to go with his career-high six touchdown receptions. He ranks second in the Big 12 in receptions, third in receiving touchdowns, 10th in receiving yards and 11th in receiving yards per game. He ranks 33rd nationally in touchdown receptions and 27th in total receptions.
