After Arkansas State, Coaches Describe How Oklahoma Got Faster in 2023

NORMAN — After taking a 73-0 beating at the hands of No. 20 Oklahoma on Saturday, Arkansas State coach Butch Jones needed a hug.

He got one from one of his players, who helped pick up his crestfallen coach from a sad, given-up, kneeling position on the Red Wolves sideline and patted him almost apologetically.

But what Jones really needed was a better scouting report on the Sooners.

“There was a marked difference with this football team than what we saw on video,” Jones said. “They’re tough. They’re physical. I thought they out-athleted us.
