We are proud to announce The Franchise – Oklahoma’s New Sound For Sports has won the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters award for best radio website. This is the second consecutive year the station has won the award.
Tyler Media President Ty Tyler came up with the idea for the website in 2013 and it has been a very successful addition to the station ever since. The website covers a wide-ranging list of topics, including OU football, basketball, baseball and softball stories. More recently, the website has included articles on the Oklahoma City Thunder, snippets from our on-air personalities and much more.
There have been many contributors to the website through the years. Many of these contributors have gone on to cover sports for The Oklahoman and other sports news outlets across the country.
Today, our main contributors include Ryan Chapman (Franchise morning show co-host and Deputy Editor for AllSooners), Daniel Bell (DB on the radio and Sr. NBA Reporter for BSO), Rives Mitchell (Franchise producer and co-host of D&R Report & Bullpen Brothers podcast) and Dave Myrick (Franchise Producer and creator of D&R Report & co-host Bullpen Brothers podcast.)
Our own on-air talent Jerry Ramsey traveled to Tulsa on April 5th to receive the award for the station.
