What We Want From OSU Spring Game

What We Want From OSU Spring Game

Well the meaningless game, which fans love because it brings a glimpse into the next year, is back. The spring game is a glorified scrimmage to get fans excited for the return of football, just five months early. So what do we hope to see as the Cowboys suit up on Saturday.

1. The return of Rudolph to Washington

These guys had career years in 2016 culminating in a stellar performance against Colorado in the Alamo Bowl, where they connected 9 times for 171 and a touchdown, one of the 10 connections for scores on the season.

2. The rest of the powerful receiving corps

After missing all of the 2016 season and receiving a medical redshirt, Marcell Ateman returns to the field to join the dynamic Chris Lacy, Jalen McCleskey, Dillon Stoner and LSU transfer Tyron Johnson. Lacy, McLeskey and Stoner were the only three that touched the field last season as they combined for 109 receptions and 10 scores.

3. The new defense

After losing playmakers like: Jordan Sterns, Vincent Taylor and Jordan Burton, its time for a new batch of Cowboys to step up and make the big plays in a conference that is offense-heavy. Junior Ramon Richards has moved to safety to join Tre Flowers while Chad Whitener is looking to lead the linebacking core for a big senior season along side Justin Phillips and Kirk Tucker.

4. Gundy’s Mullet

As of right now, the Arkansas Waterfall is still intact and looking for another strong season. How long can it get if the Cowboy head coach doesn’t cut it and keeps up the steady addition of butch wax, hopefully close to how it looked at the Alamo Bowl.
