Oklahoma State has gained its second titled football game of the year. The Bank of Oklahoma Turnpike Classic will feature Oklahoma State University and Tulsa University starting this season when the Golden Hurricane travel to Stillwater for the season opener.
The Turnpike Classic will be the first of two titled games for the Cowboys as it joins the Bedlam Series on the schedule.
Pat Piper, executive vice president of Consumer Banking Services for BOK Financial, said he is trilled to be a part of this great series because it has strong ties into banks history.
“Bank of Oklahoma’s beginning’s go back to 1910 just before the start of the series, so it’s with particular pride that we partner on an event with such rich history and which brings together fans from across the state,” Piper said.
Now the question that needs to be asked, is TU vs. OSU an in-state rivalry?
Whether it is or is not, this year will be the 72nd meeting between the teams dating back to 1914. The Cowboys have the edge in the series at 39-27-5.
The first year of the Bank of Oklahoma Turnpike Classic will kickoff on Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. on FS1.
