OKLAHOMA CITY — The NBA and the Oklahoma City Thunder have announced their schedule for the 2019-20 season.
Don’t worry Sooner/Cowboys fans, you’ll only have to pick between Thunder basketball and OU/OSU once for each school. OKC takes on the New Orleans Pelicans at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 2nd, while TCU heads to Stillwater to take on the Cowboys. For OU fans, the following week has Golden State coming to OKC while Iowa State heads to Norman.
Due to the Thunder’s massive change in personnel over the offseason, nationally televised games will be rare. The Thunder find themselves on national TV only three times. Last season, OKC enjoyed 27 national broadcasts.
Russell Westbrook will return to Oklahoma City on January 9th on TNT. The Denver Nuggets head to OKC on February 21st on ESPN. The final game puts the Thunder on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 28th on ESPN.
In addition to those three games, the Thunder will be on six addition NBA TV games. Those are blacked out locally in Oklahoma.
Other notable games include a December 22nd matchup in OKC between the Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers. This could potentially mark Paul George’s return if he is healthy. The Thunder will also play Westbrook’s Rockets on October 28th in Houston, marking the first time Westbrook has ever played the Thunder.
No Christmas Day game this year, but OKC will be in Chesapeake Energy Arena for a New Year’s Eve night matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.
