Texas Won A Three-Game Series Against Baltimore, To Finish Homestand Against Oakland

The Texas Rangers, 32-28 overall, won a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles, 19-43, at Globe Life Park. Texas lost the series opener 12-11. Texas fell short after a six-run rally in the ninth inning. Third baseman Asdrúbal Cabrera  had a three-hit game, including a two-run double, his eighth. Left fielder Shin-Soo Choo had a two-hit game, including a solo home run, his 11th, and a RBI single. Starter Drew Smyly earned his fourth loss after allowing seven runs and striking out two in 3 1/3 innings.

Texas won game two 2-1 in the 12th inning. Center fielder Delino DeShields had a four-hit game, including a walk-off RBI single. Reliever Jeffrey Springs earned his third win after pitching a shutout 12th inning.

Texas won the series finale 4-3. First baseman Ronald Guzmán had a two-hit game, including a RBI double, his 10th. Designated hitter Hunter Pence hit a solo home run, his 12th. Starter Ariel Jurado earned his third win allowing three runs and striking out six in six innings.

Texas will finish its 11-game homestand with a four-game series against the Oakland Athletics, 30-31, which can be heard on:
