Texas Wins Weekend Series Against Toronto

Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers, 16-16 overall, won a three-game weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays, 15-20. Texas lost the series opener 1-0. Shortstop Elvis Andrus hit the only Ranger extra-base hit, which was a double, his eighth. Starter Mike Minor struck out nine in eighth shutout innings before reliever Ariel Jurado earned his first loss after allowing an unearned run in the 12th inning.
Texas won game two 8-5. Catcher Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a three-run triple, his first, and hit a RBI groundout. Also, right fielder Nomar Mazara hit a solo home run, hist sixth. Starter Lance Lynn struck out three and allowed five runs in six innings to earn his fourth win. After two relievers earned holds, reliever Shawn Kelley earned his second save after pitching a shutout ninth.
Texas won the series finale 10-2. Third baseman Asdrúbal Cabrera hit a RBI double, his fourth, and a three-run home run, his seventh. Also, second baseman Rougned Odor hit a two-run home run, his second, and a RBI single. Starter Drew Smyly allowed a run and struck out five in four innings before reliever Kyle Dowdy pitched two shutout innings to earn his second win.
Texas will travel to play the Pittsburgh Pirates, 16-15, for a two-game series, which can be heard on:
