The Texas Rangers, 42-36 overall, won two of three against the Chicago White Sox, 36-39, at Globe Life Park. Texas lost the series opener 5-4 in 10 innings. Right fielder Nomar Mazara hit a two-run home run, his 10th, center fielder Danny Santana hit a RBI single and second baseman Rougned Odor hit a solo home run, his 10th. Closer Shawn Kelley earned his second loss after allowing a run in the 10th inning.
Texas won game two 6-5. Mazara hit a two-run home run and a solo home run, his 11th and 12th, infielder Logan Forsythe hit a RBI double, his 15th, designated hitter Shin-Shoo Choo hit a RBI single and center fielder Delino DeShields hit a RBI single. Starter Lance Lynn earned his ninth inning after allowing five runs and striking out six and reliever Chris Martin earned his third save after a shutout ninth inning.
Texas won the series finale 7-4. Mazara hit a RBI double, his 16th, and Santana hit a two-run home run, his eighth. Starter Adrian Sampson earned his sixth win after allowing a run and striking out four in seven innings. Kelley earned his 10th save after striking out two in a shutout four-out appearance.
