Texas Wins Series Against Kansas City To Close Out Road Trip

The Texas Rangers, 19-22 overall, won a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals, 15-29, to finish a nine-game road trip. Texas lost the series opener 11-5. Infielder Logan Forsythe hit two doubles, his eighth and ninth, a triple, his first, and got two RBIs. Three other Rangers had two-hit games in the opener. Starter Shelby Miller earned his third loss after allowing eighth runs in 1 2/3 innings.
Texas won game two 6-1. First baseman Ronald Guzmán got two hits, including his two-run home run, his fourth, and drove in three. Right fielder Nomar Mazara had a four-hit game. Starter Mike Minor earned his fourth win after allowing a run and striking out three in five innings.
Texas won the series finale 16-1. Shortstop Danny Santana, outfielder Joey Gallo and left fielder Willie Calhoun each had a four-hit game. Second baseman Rougned Odor had a three-hit game, including two two-run home runs, his fourth and fifth, and drove in four. Starter Lance Lynn earned his fifth win after allowing a run and striking out five in seven innings.
Texas will start a six-game homestand with a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals, 23-21, which can be heard on:
