The Texas Rangers (11-18) won two of game against the Toronto Blue Jays (15-12) at the Rogers Centre.
Right fielder Nomar Mazara started the series opener with a RBI single, which was part of a three-hit game, before left fielder Joey Gallo hit a two-run home run, his eighth, in the first inning. In the sixth, first baseman Ronald Guzman hit a two-run single. Texas won 6-4.
Lefty Mike Minor pitched six innings, allowed four runs and struck out four to earn his second win before three relievers earned a hold before closer Keone Kela earned his fifth save.
Shortstop Jurickson Profar hit a two-run home run, his first of the season, and catcher Robinson Chirinos hit a solo home run, his fourth, in the second inning of game two. Two innings later, designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo hit a two-run double, his seventh. In the sixth, Chirinos hit his second solo home run of the game before Choo hit a RBI single in the ninth. Texas won 7-4.
Starter Bartolo Colon pitched seven innings, allowed three runs and struck out two while earning his first win of the season. Then, two relievers combined for followed Colon before Kela earned a one-out save.
Third baseman Renato Nuñez started the series finale with a solo home run, his first of the season, in the second. Then, second baseman Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a RBI ground out in the sixth. Texas lost 7-2.
Lefty Martin Pérez pitched four innings and allowed four runs before three pitchers relieved him.
Texas will finish its three-game road trip against the Cleveland Indians (14-12) at Progressive Field.
