The Los Angeles Dodgers (72-61) swept the Texas Rangers (58-76) in a two-game series at Globe Life Park.
Shortstop Elvis Andrus and right fielder Nomar Mazara each hit RBI singles in the third inning of the series opener. Then, first baseman Ronald Guzman hit a two-run single in the ninth. Texas lost 8-4.
Rookie Ariel Jurado allowed three runs, two walks and struck out one in 2 2/3 innings before the bullpen allowed five runs, four earned and struck out five in 6 1/3 innings.
Designated hitter Adrian Beltre hit a RBI double, his 15th, in the ninth inning of the series finale. Texas lost 3-1.
Beltre’s double allowed him to pass Tony Gwynn and tie Robin Yount for 17th place on the all-time hit list.
Lefty Mike Minor allowed a pair of runs, three walks and struck out seven in six innings before the bullpen allowed a run, a walk and struck out three in three innings.
Texas will continue its homestand with a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins (62-70) at Globe Life Park.
