The Texas Rangers, 72-73 overall, swept the Baltimore Orioles, 46-97, in a four-game series at Camden Yards. Texas won the series opener 3-1. Designated hitter Nick Solak hit a two-run home run, his second. Starter Kolby Allard earned his fourth win after a run and striking out two in 6 1/3 innings and closer Jose Leclerc earned his 10th save after striking out one in the ninth.
Texas won game two 7-6. Left fielder Willie Calhoun hit a solo home run and a three-run home run, his 17th and 18th. Reliever Brett Martin earned his second win after pitching a shutout sixth inning and Leclerc earned his 11th save after striking out one in the ninth.
Texas won game three 9-4. Second baseman Rougned Odor hit a three-run home run, his 23rd, and third baseman Danny Santana hit a two-run single. Lefty Yohander Méndez earned his first win after allowing a run and struck out six in 2 1/3 innings.
Texas won the series finale 10-4. Solak hit three singles, which totaled four RBIs. First baseman Ronald Guzmán hit a solo home run, his ninth, and Odor hit a solo home run, his 24th. Starter Mike Minor earned his 13th win after allowing two runs and striking out three in eight innings.
