Designated hitter Hunter Pence hit a solo home run, his 13th, shortstop Elvis Andrus hit a RBI triple, his second, and right fielder Nomar Mazara hit a RBI groundout. Reliever José Leclerc earned his second loss after allowing two run in the ninth.
Texas won game two 10-5. Andrus hit a RBI double, his 12th, Mazara hit a RBI sacrifice fly and a two-run home run, his ninth, and catcher Tim Federowicz hit a three-run home run, his first. Reliever Jeffrey Springs earned his fourth win after allowing a run and striking out three in three innings.
Texas won game three 3-1. Left fielder Danny Santana hit a RBI triple, his second, catcher Jeff Mathis hit a RBI single and center fielder Delino DeShields drove in a run with sacrifice fly. Starter Adrian Sampson earned his fifth win with seven strikeouts in a one-run complete game.
Texas lost game four 9-8. Third baseman Asdrúbal Cabrera hit a RBI double, his 10th, a RBI single and a solo home run, his 10th, and second baseman Rougned Odor hit a two-run single and a RBI double, his eighth. Starter Drew Smyly earned his fifth loss after allowing five runs and striking out three in three innings.
