Texas Loses Three-Game Series Against Tampa Bay

The Texas Rangers, 46-38 overall, lost two of three against the Tampa Bay Rays, 48-36, at Tropicana Field. Texas won the series opener 5-0. First baseman Ronald Guzmán hit a two-run double, his 16th, second baseman Rougned Odor hit a RBI double, his 13th, and designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo hit a RBI single. Starter Lance Lynn earned his 10th win after striking out 10 in eight- shutout innings.

Texas lost game two 5-2. First baseman Logan Forsythe hit a RBI groundout and a run scored on a wild pitch. Starter Adrian Sampson earned his fifth loss after allowing three runs and striking out seven in six innings.

Texas lost the series finale 6-2. Left fielder Joey Gallo hit a two-run home run, his 20th. Starter Jesse Chavez earned his third loss after allowing four runs, three earned, and striking out eight.

Texas will host the Los Angeles Angels, 42-42, in a four-game series at Globe Life Park, which can be heard on:
