Texas Loses Series At Yankee Stadium

The Texas Rangers, 68-73 overall, lost two of three against the New York Yankees, 92-49, at Yankee Stadium. Texas won the series opener 7-0. Center fielder Delino DeShields hit a three-run home run, his fourth, and designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo hit a solo home run, his 21st home run. Starter Mike Minor earned his 12th win striking out five in 7 1/3 shutout innings.

Texas lost game two 10-1. Right fielder Scott Heineman hit a solo home run, the first of his career, and starter Edinson Vólquez earned his first loss after allowing two runs in one inning.

Texas lost the series finale 4-1. Second baseman Rougned Odor hit a solo home run, his 22nd, and starter Lance Lynn earned his 10th loss after striking out seven and allowing three runs in five innings.

Texas will finish a seven-game road trip with a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles, 46-93, which can be heard on:
