Texas Loses Series Against The Athletics

The Texas Rangers, 75-81 overall, -game series against the Oakland Athletics, 94-62, at the Oakland Coliseum. Texas lost the series opener 8-0. Texas’ offense was limited to two hits and starter Mike Minor earned his 10th loss after allowing six runs and striking out three in five innings.

Texas lost game two 12-3. Shortstop Elvis Andrus, third baseman Nick Solak and first baseman Danny Santana each hit solo home runs, Andrus’  11th, Santana’s 26th and Solak’s fifth. Starter Brock Burke earned his second loss after allowing seven runs in 2/3 innings.

Texas won the series finale 8-3. Left fielder Willie Calhoun hit two solo home runs, his 19th and 20th, Andrus hit a two-run home run, his 12th, and designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo hit a solo home run, his 23rd. Starter Lance Lynn earned his 15th win after allowing two runs and striking out 12 in 5 1/3 innings.

Texas will start a six-game homestand with a three-game homestand against the Boston Red Sox, 81-75, which cane be heard on:

Wednesday- Franchise 2, 1560 AM AND 107.9 FM Tulsa at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday-Franchise 2, 1560 AM 12:30 p.m.
