Texas Loses Series Against The Angels

The Texas Rangers, 47-40 overall, lost a four-game series to the Los Angeles Angels, 44-44. The series opener was postponed because of the passing of Angels’ pitcher Tyler Skaggs.

Texas lost game two 9-4. center fielder Delino DeShields hit a solo home run, his second, and a couple of sacrifice flies drove in two runs. Reliever Peter Fairbanks earned his second loss after allowing three run in the six inning.

Texas lost game three 6-2. Catcher Tim Federowicz hit a solo home run, his third, and shortstop Elvis Andrus drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Starter Ariel Jurado earned his fourth loss after allowing six runs and striking out seven runs in six innings.

Texas won the series finale 9-3. Second baseman Rougned Odor hit a two-run and a three-run home run, his 11th and 12th, and designated hitter Nomar Mazara hit a two-run double, his 18th. Starter Lance Lynn earned his 11th win after allowing two runs and striking out five in seven innings.

Texas will play a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins, 54-32, which can be heard on:
