Texas Loses Series Against Milwaukee

The Texas Rangers, 59-58 overall, lost a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers, 62-57, at Miller Park. Texas lost the series opener 6-5. Right fielder Hunter Pence hit a solo home run, his 17th, infielder Logan Forsythe hit a two-run home run, his seventh, and shortstop Elvis Andrus hit a solo home run, his ninth. Rookie Emmanuel Clase earned his his first loss after allowing a walk-off home run.

Texas lost game two 3-2. Outfielder Danny Santana and Shin-Soo Choo each hit solo home runs, Santana’s 18th and Choo’s 19th. Starter Pedro Payano earned his first loss after allowing two runs and striking out one in three innings.

Texas won the series finale 1-0. Third baseman Isiah Kiner-Falefa drove in the game’s lone run with a sacrifice fly. Starter Mike Minor earned his 11th win after striking out 11 in eight shutout innings. Then, closer Jose Leclerc earned his eighth save after striking out one in the ninth inning.

Texas will finish a nine-game road trip with a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays, 49-72, at Rogers Centre, which can be heard on:
