Texas Loses Four-Game Series Against The White Sox

The Texas Rangers, 64-68 overall, lost three of four against the Chicago White Sox, 60-70, at Guaranteed Rate Field. Texas lost the series opener 6-1. Shortstop Elvis Andrus hit a solo home run, his 10th. Starter Ariel Jurado earned his 10th loss after allowing six runs and striking out two in eight innings.

Texas lost game two 8-3. Left fielder Willie Calhoun hit a three-run home run, his 14th. Starter Lance Lynn earned his ninth loss after allowing seven runs and striking out 10 in 5 2/3 innings.

Texas won game three 4-0. First baseman Danny Santana hit a two-run home run, his 22nd, and Calhoun hit a two-run home run, his 15th. Starter Kolby Allard earned his second win after striking out eight in 6 1/3 innings.

Texas lost the series finale 2-0. Right fielder Shin-Soo Choo’s sixth-inning single was the Ranger’s lone hit in the series finale. Rookie Brock Burke earned his first loss after allowing a run and striking out five in six innings.

Texas will finish its six-game road trip with a two-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, 63-70, at Angel Stadium, which can be heard on:
