The TCU Horned Frogs will be trying to get back on the winning track when they visit the Oklahoma Sooners at the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday afternoon. Time to start a new streak
TCU saw a nine-game winning streak end on Wednesday with a 77-68 road loss to ninth-ranked Kansas. The Horned Frogs gave up 24 points to the Jayhawks on a season-high 20 turnovers. Redshirt freshman R.J. Nembhard scored a career-high 14 points to lead a balanced attack for TCU, as five players scored in double-figures. Junior guard Desmond Bane (14.3 points per game) leads five TCU players who average in double-figures and he has totaled 35 points on 14-for-21 shooting (4-for-5 from three-point range) in the Horned Frogs’ first two Big 12 outings. Redshirt freshman Kevin Samuel scored 12 points while going 6-for-7 from the floor against the Jayhawks, as the 6’11” center enters the weekend leading the conference in field-goal percentage (75.0). Samuel tops a TCU team that is first in the Big 12 in shooting (49.7 percent) while sitting second in scoring offense (79.6 ppg) and scoring margin (plus-13.1). TCU junior guard Jaylen Fisher leads the conference in three-pointers made per game (3.3) while boasting the third-best three-point percentage (44.1).
