Sooners commit performance and commit of the week

Spencer Rattler.

Rattler has been hurt for the last few weeks because of a week one injury where, as Rattler put it, his ankle got rolled up on while he was scrambling outside of the pocket. Rattler sat out last week, but his Pinnacle (AZ) Pioneers found a way to keep on rolling.

Last Friday was a much tougher test when Rattler’s Pinnacle squad traveled to San Juan Capistrano (CA) to take on powerhouse and nationally ranked JSerra Catholic High School.

Rattler and his Pioneers came in riding a three game win streak, dating back to the 2017 season and were looking to put their name in the hat as one of the better high school teams in the nation. Ironically, they succeeded in doing that without winning the ball game.

The Pioneers followed their leader, Rattler, and showed why they belonged, going down 42-35 and giving up the final score with less than a minute and a half left on the clock. Despite the five-star Rattler and his Pioneers not scoring on their final drive, he had a game to remember. Rattler torched JSerra’s defense with 460 yards passing and four touchdowns.
