Russell Westbrook averaged a triple-double en route to securing the NBA MVP award, so it only follows that he get a commemorative bobblehead — or in this case, a pair of bobbleheads.

The first bobblehead (which retails for a cool $40) features a triple-double counter. The other, which features Russ in a trio of Thunder uniforms, sells for $70.
Although I am a sucker for kitsch and enjoy the novelty of a triple-double counter, I can’t get past the fact that the face looks nothing like Russ.
Let’s compare. This:
Awe, he’s smiling.
[flails arms, spilling coffee] BY GOD WHAT IS THAT
I wasn’t exaggerating earlier when I said that I love kitsch, and I enjoy the sense of sentimentality that comes along with sports memorabilia. (There’s an O.J. Simpson joke here somewhere — I’ll let you fill in the gaps.)
But that’s no way to treat the MVP. They could have at least given him the gap-tooth Thunder fans have come to know and love.
Especially for $40+.
I can’t be the only one who thinks this bobblehead caricature is painfully off-base. If you agree, tweet and follow me: @mattravis.
