Oklahoma continues to stay in the coaching news with today’s hire of Skip Johnson as their head baseball coach. The Franchise broke the news earlier today on the mMm Ranch:

Skip Johnson has already spent a year in Norman as the pitching coach for former skipper, Pete Hughes. He spent fourteen years under legendary head coach Augie Garrido as the pitching coach at the University of Texas. Johnson is now the tenth coach in the history of Oklahoma baseball. Sources gleam with how good of a hire this is and how well Johnson recruits and relates with his players.
Prior to the Pete Hughes era, the Oklahoma baseball program made the NCAA Tournament in nine of ten seasons. Those expectations will be back once again with a young, talented group returning to Norman that will be joined with a deep recruiting class that had multiple players get drafted out of high school.
