While the sports world has been mostly devoid of content lately, many former Oklahoma State athletes are tied into changing that.
Former OSU golfers Talor Gooch, Viktor Hovland, Kevin Tway, Matthew Wolff, Rickie Fowler, Charles Howell III and Bo Van Pelt will all participate in the 2020 Workday Charity Open on Thursday.
These Cowboys have enough prowess to win the tournament too.
According to SportLine’s prediction model, which correctly predicted Bryson Dechambeau’s tournament win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic last week and two of the last three major winners, has three former OSU players in the top 20 best odds to win the tournament.
The model puts Wolff at 50-1 odds (19th best), Fowler at 28-1 odds (9th best) and Hovland at 22-1 odds (7th best). Wolff in particular has momentum coming into this tournament after his second place finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic this past Sunday.
The OSU action starts early Thursday morning with Gooch teeing off at 7:01 a.m., Hovland teeing off at 7:34 a.m. and Tway teeing off at 8:29 a.m. and extending into the afternoon with Wolff and Fowler at 12:59 p.m., Howell III at 1:10 p.m. and Bo Van Pelt at 2:05 p.m. TV coverage for the event begins at 3 p.m.
The tournament will take place at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio from July 9-12. The purse for the event is $6.2 million, with the first place winner receiving $1,116,000.
