Russell Westbrook Goes Down With Ankle Injury; Left Ankle Sprain Per OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Russell Westbrook left the New Orleans Pelicans game at the 4:25 mark of the third quarter with an apparent ankle injury.

After falling to the ground, Westbrook attempted to get up and walk to the bench. He appeared to be in a lot of pain as he proceeded to hobble to a seat. He eventually tried to walk under his own power to the locker room but had to be helped by two Thunder trainers.

As of right now, Westbrook’s status is unknown.

Westbrook left the game with 17 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.

UPDATE (9:10 p.m.)

The Thunder announce midway through the fourth quarter that Westbrook sustained a left ankle sprain. His status to return to the game is unknown.
