Report: Lincoln Riley Hires Ruffin McNeill In First Move as Head Coach

New Oklahoma Football head coach Lincoln Riley has hired Ruffin McNeill as an assistant coach, who is moving to the University of Oklahoma staff from his previous post as defensive line coach at the University of Virginia.

McNeill was Riley’s head coach at East Carolina University from 2010-2015, and the two worked together at Texas Tech under Mike Leach from 2003-2009.

Apparently, McNeill will split defensive line coaching duties with current defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux. The Sooners coaching staff is now complete.

The Franchise’s John E. Hoover speculates that McNeill may be on track to become the next defensive coordinator of Oklahoma:
