Report: Dakari Johnson traded to Orlando for Rodney Purvis

The Oklahoma City Thunder are trading backup big man Dakari Johnson to the Orlando Magic in exchange for shooting guard Rodney Purvis. The news was broke by Adam Fransisco of The Suave Report and confirmed by Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

Purvis comes in with a non-guaranteed contract making the same amount as Johnson. Due to his contract being non-guaranteed, Purvis could be waved allowing the Thunder’s roster to sit at 13.

Oklahoma City still holds a tax payers mid-level exception as well as a $10.9 million trade exception recieved in yesterday’s Carmelo Anthony/Dennis Schroder trade.

Purvis is a one year-veteran coming from Orlando. He started only two of the 16 games he appeared in last year. He averaged six points on 33 percent shooting including 25 percent from three. The 24-year old played at NC State before transferring to UCONN. He averaged a little over 11 points for his college career.
