OU football: Bolton, Brown named AP midseason All-Americans

NORMAN – Oklahoma wide receiver Marquise Brown and linebacker Curtis Bolton were named AP midseason All-Americans, the Associated Press announced Tuesday.

Brown and Bolton were both members of the second team.

Bolton’s 75 tackles leads the Sooners (5-1 overall, 2-1 Big 12) and ranks 11th nationally. Additionally, he has two and a half sacks and five tackles for loss.

Brown is fourth nationally with 112.5 receiving yards per game. He has snagged seven scores and averages 20.45 yards per catch. Brown also didn’t record a catch against Army.

Quarterback Kyler Murray wasn’t named to either team. Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins received recognition for their play.

OU returns to action at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fort Worth against TCU.
