OU Athletic Events Coming Up

Here is a list of upcoming events for University of Oklahoma Athletics:

OU Softball-  The four-time defending Big 12 champion Oklahoma softball team opens up the 2016 season this weekend at the Sportco Kickoff Classic hosted by UNLV. The weekend schedule begins on Friday, February 12th against the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers at 3:30pm (CT) and the University of Washington Huskies at 8:00pm (CT). The schedule follows the next day, February 13th, against Lamar University at 1:15pm (CT) and Syracuse University at 5:45pm (CT). The tournament concludes on Sunday, February 14th, against Long Beach State University.

OU Track & Field- The OU Track & Field teams have two different meets this weekend. One is the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, NM hosted by the University of New Mexico Lobos and the other is the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington Huskies. The Sooners meets for the Don Kirby Elite Invitational are Friday, February 12th at 4:00pm(CT) and Saturday, February 13th at 9:30am(CT). The Sooners meets for the Husky Classic are Friday, February 12th at 4:00pm(CT) and Saturday, February 13th at 9:00am(CT).

OU Men’s Tennis- The #5 ranked OU Men’s Tennis team will be playing this weekend in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship hosted by the University of Virginia. The Sooners are the #8 seed and will face the #9 seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the first round of play on Friday, February 12th, at 5:30pm(CT). If the Sooners win Friday night, they will face the winner of Virginia and San Diego on Saturday, February 13th.

OU Women’s Tennis- The OU Women’s Tennis team will be on the road in the state of Texas this weekend playing SMU on Friday, February 12th at 12:00pm(CT) and then the University of North Texas on Saturday, February 13th at 12:00pm.

OU Women’s Gymnastics- The #1 ranked OU Women’s Gymnastics team will be competing in the Perfect 10 Challenge at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City on Friday, February 12th at 6:45pm. The other teams that are competing are Denver University, George Washington University, and Utah State University.

OU Men’s Basketball- The #1 ranked OU Men’s Basketball team takes on the #7 ranked Kansas Jayhawks at the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday, February 12th, with the tip at 1:30pm(CT). The game will be broadcast on ESPN. ESPN’s College Gameday will be showcasing the game with their show starting at 10:00am(CT), followed by the afternoon edition leading into the game telecast at 1:00pm(CT). The doors to the College Gameday show will open at 8:00am(CT) and admission is free. College Gameday is hosted by Rece Davis with analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams.

OU Women’s Basketball- The #21 ranked OU Women’s Basketball team will be taking on the #6 ranked Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry at the Lloyd Noble Center with the tip at 1:30pm(CT). The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

OU  Wrestling- The #7 ranked OU Wrestling team will be taking on South Dakota State at McCasland Fieldhouse this Sunday, February 14th starting at 2:00pm(CT).

OU Baseball- Mark your calendars for February 21-24th as the OU Baseball team opens up their season with a 4 game series against Northeastern University at L. Dale Mitchell Park. OU Baseball will be unveiling their new field surface renovation going from grass to turf.
