Kenneth Edison-McGruder, who was a four-star recruit out of Houston, Texas, on Scout.com, has been bounced around the defense his entire time in Stillwater.
A natural safety in high school, he was moved to the linebacker position under former OSU defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer and saw limited success – starting in nine games during the past two years.
Under first-year DC Jim Knowles, who will shift the Cowboys to a 4-2-5 defense to combat the high-powered passing offenses in the Big 12, Edison-McGruder became the obvious option to move out of the linebacker position back to being one of the five defensive backs on the field.
