STILLWATER – Oklahoma State quarterback Taylor Cornelius and punter Zach Sinor received weekly conference honors, the Big 12 announced Monday.

Cornelius also earned recognition as a Manning Award Star of the Week, which is part of the Davey O’Brien Award “Great 8.” He completed 23-of-34 passes for 321 yards and three scores in Oklahoma State’s 38-35 upset victory against then-No. 6 Texas. He also added two rushing touchdowns on the ground, including the game-winning tally.

Cornelius has two fourth-down touchdowns, and the game-winning scramble came on a zone read on third-and-goal from the 10.

His performance was the fourth-highest passing total by an OSU quarterback against Texas. It was his first Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Sinor, OSU’s senior punter, nailed a 57-yard missile to pin Texas at its 2 with 10 minutes left in the game and OSU up 31-28. He averaged 45 yards on four punts, and the late field position advantage helped the OSU defense.

Sinor’s co-Special Teams Player of the Week award was the fifth weekly conference award he earned in his career.

The Cowboys (5-3 overall, 2-3 Big 12) return to action Saturday when they travel to Waco, Texas, to face Baylor. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m., and the game will be televised on FS1.
