STILLWATER – Oklahoma State defensive end Jordan Brailford was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

The redshirt junior finished with a career-high eight tackles, including three sacks and five tackles for loss, in the Cowboys’ 48-28 victory against Kansas on Saturday. His five tackles for loss marked the most for any Big 12 player in a game this season and is tied for the second most in OSU history. His three sacks tied for third all-time at OSU.

Brailford has seven sacks this season, which is tied for the lead in the FBS. As a team, OSU has accumulated 24 sacks, which leads the nation. The Cowboys had 30 sacks in 13 games last season.

Brailford and the Cowboys (4-1 overall, 1-1 Big 12) return to action at 2:30 Saturday when Iowa State comes to Boone Pickens Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
