Oklahoma Wins Final Regular-Season Series Against Texas

The Oklahoma Sooners, 33-21 overall and 11-13 in Big 12 play, won a weekend series against the Texas Longhorns, 27-27 and 7-16, to close out the regular season. Oklahoma won the series opener 4-2. Third baseman Brylie Ware hit a RBI double and first baseman Tyler Hardman hit a RBI single. Starter Nathan Wiles earned his eighth win after allowing two runs and striking out eighth in eighth innings before closer Jason Ruffcorn earned his 11th save with a shutout ninth inning.

OU won 13-0 in seven innings. Second baseman Conor McKenna got three hits and drove in two runs, Hardman drove in three on two hits and Ware got four hits. Starter Levi Prater earned his seventh win after striking out seven in six shutout innings.

OU lost the series finale 6-4. Shortstop Brandon Zaragoza got two RBIs with a sacrifice fly an a walk. Starter Ben Abram earned his fourth loss after allowing three runs and striking out two in 1 1/3 innings.

OU will face the Baylor Bears, 33-15 and 14-8, Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, which can be heard on:
