Oklahoma State Sweeps Baylor In Final Series Of Allie P. Reynolds Stadium

The Oklahoma State Cowboys, 32-17 overall and 14-9 in Big 12 play, sweep the Baylor Bears, 33-15 and 14-8, in a two-game series. The series was supposed to include a third game, but rain forced game three to be canceled. OSU won the series opener 16-4. OSU used four home runs, two doubles, three singles and a fielder’s choice to win the opener. Starter Joe Lienhard earned his third win after allowing four runs and striking out seven in six innings before lefty Mitchell Stone earned his first save after striking out one in three shutout innings.

OSU won game two 5-4. Designated hitter Colin Simpson and second baseman Max Hewitt each hit solo home runs and center fielder Trevor Boone hit a two-run single and a solo home run. Starter Jensen Elliot allowed four runs and struck out five in his second-consecutive complete game to earn his eighth win.

OSU will play in the Big 12 Championship, which will be from Wednesday to Sunday and will be at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, home of the Oklahoma City Dodgers.
