Oklahoma State Loses Home Weekend Series Against Iowa

The Cowboys, 6-4 overall, won 5-4  in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader against the Hawkeyes, 6-4. Right fielder Cade Cabbiness led OSU in the series opener with two doubles and a RBI. Reliever Joe Lienhard earned the win after pitching a scoreless ninth. Lienhard’s win came after starter Jensen Elliot allowed two runs in five innings.

Left fielder Carson McCusker led OSU with a two-run double in its 5-4 lose. Starter Logan Gragg allowed four runs and struck out seven in four innings.

Left fielder Colin Simpson drove in a run with sacrifice fly, for OSU lost 3-2 in the series finale. Starter Mitchell Stone allowed one unearned run and struck out four in seven innings before reliever Jake Lyons allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings to earn the lose.

The Cowboys will finish the homestand on Wednesday against Wichita State, 5-5.
